Body Piercing - Ears, Septum, Nostrils, Eyebrows, etc: Clean piercing with a fresh Q-tip and water 8 to 10 times daily. Do not try to rotate jewelry without cleaning off the crusty buildup that might accumulate during the day. Try not to touch the jewelry or Piercing with your fingers during the day while you are in the healing process. You have a lot of germs and bacteria on your fingers that could cause infection. You want to wash the piercing once or twice daily in the shower with an antibacterial soap, preferable Provon. Oral Piercings - Tongue, Lip, Labret, Cheek, etc: Swelling may last from 1 to 3 days. You need to rinse every hour with Listerine, or similar mouthwash. You can drink a lot of cold fluids and ice to minimize swelling. Avoid any oral contact, and wet kissing. Please rinse after you eat, drink, or smoke. Oral piercing is more apt to infection. So please treat these piercings with care. Mid to Lower Body Piercings - Nipples, Navels, Male and Female Genitals: Clean piercing with a fresh Q-tip and water 8 to 10 times daily. Do not try to rotate jewelry without cleaning off the crusty buildup that might accumulate during the day. Try not to touch the jewelry or piercing with your fingers during the day while you are in the healing process. You have a lot of germs and bacteria on your fingers that could cause infection. You want to wash the piercing one or two times a day in the shower with an antibacterial soap, preferably Provon. Tattoos First Three Days You will need to remove the bandage that your artist applied in about an hour. After this, you will not need to rebandage the tattoo. The best way to remove it is to wet the area so that any dry blood will not damage the tattoo. You will want to wash the area with an antibacterial soap and warm water. Pat area gently with paper towel. Do not wipe the tattoo. Apply a small amount of either Betadine Clear, Bacitracin ointment, or tattoo goo. Pat off any excess ointment. After these three days, please follow the instructions below. The Next Two Weeks Wash tattoo with "antibacterial soap", and warm water. Apply Lubriderm lotion. DO NOT use anything with aloe. Pat dry to remove excess lotion. You will want to repeat this 3 to 5 times daily. During the next two weeks, keep the area out of sunlight as much as possible. Do not swim in either fresh or chlorine treated water. If sign of infections are present, please contact the artist, and your health care provider. Please report to the Texas Department of Health, Drugs, and Medical Devices at first sight of any infection, adverse reaction, or allergic reaction resulting from the application from the tattoo. Note This is a piece of art, an investment. After care is essential to the life of the tattoo. We do offer touch-ups by appointment only. If you have any questions, please e-mail us, or call us at (817) 626-8287. Remember that not only are you walking around with a piece of art, but its the artists name too. Please take care of it.
